Information we collect

Account and profile information

When you create or use a GeekifyUK account, we may process information such as your email address, account identifier, username, display name, profile customisation and authentication-related information.

Collector and gameplay information

We keep information needed to operate your Geekify experience, including pack-opening history, cards discovered or held, collection progress, credits, XP, levels, rewards, achievements, leaderboard statistics, marketplace activity and trades.

Orders and fulfilment

If you buy physical products, we may process your name, email address, delivery address, order contents, order status and information needed to fulfil, support, refund or otherwise manage your order. GeekifyUK currently fulfils physical orders within the UK only.

Support and communications

If you contact us, we process the information you provide in your message and any related correspondence so we can respond and resolve your request.

Technical information

Our website and the services that support it may process technical information necessary to operate securely and reliably, such as IP address, browser/device information, session information, security logs and similar diagnostic data.

How we use your information

We use personal information where necessary to provide and maintain GeekifyUK and to run the features you choose to use. This can include:

• creating, authenticating and maintaining your account;
• saving your collection, pack history, credits, rewards and progression;
• operating trades, marketplace features and community functionality;
• processing purchases and delivering physical orders;
• providing customer support and handling refunds or disputes;
• protecting accounts, preventing abuse and keeping the service secure;
• meeting applicable legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations; and
• improving the reliability and operation of GeekifyUK.

We do not currently use your information for third-party behavioural advertising or advertising analytics.

Our lawful bases

UK data protection law requires a lawful basis for processing personal information. Depending on what we are doing, GeekifyUK may rely on:

• Contract — where processing is necessary to provide a service, feature or purchase you request.
• Legal obligation — where we must retain or use information to comply with applicable law.
• Legitimate interests — where necessary for reasonable business purposes such as security, fraud prevention, service administration and protecting GeekifyUK and its users, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
• Consent — where we specifically ask for permission and consent is the appropriate lawful basis. You may withdraw that consent where applicable.

Payments

Online payments are processed using Stripe. When you make a payment, payment and transaction information is provided to Stripe as necessary to process the transaction, prevent fraud, issue refunds and provide payment services.

GeekifyUK does not need to receive or store your complete payment-card details simply to operate Stripe's payment processing. Stripe handles payment information under its own privacy terms and may act as a controller and/or processor depending on the processing involved.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to service providers where necessary to run GeekifyUK, including:

• Supabase, which supports database, authentication, storage and backend functionality;
• Stripe, for payment processing and related payment services;
• email/service providers used to send transactional or support communications, including Resend where used;
• delivery and fulfilment providers where information is required to deliver a physical order; and
• professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law.

Some public/community features may intentionally display information you choose to make public, such as a username, display name, avatar, collection or leaderboard information. Do not put information in public profile fields that you do not want other users to see.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing your account and collection, maintaining transaction and order records, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and meeting legal or accounting requirements.

Different records may therefore have different retention periods. For example, some account information may be removed when an account is deleted, while records connected with purchases, payments, refunds, fraud prevention or legal obligations may need to be retained for longer.

Cookies and similar technology

GeekifyUK may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, security, remembering choices and providing website functionality. We do not currently use advertising or behavioural-tracking analytics.

Our separate Cookie Policy will provide more detail about the technologies used on the live site. If we introduce optional analytics or advertising technologies later, we will update our notices and obtain consent where required.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis involved, UK data protection law may give you rights to:

• ask for access to personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
• ask us to erase personal information in certain circumstances;
• ask us to restrict certain processing;
• object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests;
• receive or transfer certain information in a portable format where the right applies; and
• withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

You also have the right to raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal information and restrict access to it. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep access, authentication and backend operations appropriately protected and to respond to security issues when they arise.

Changes to this policy

GeekifyUK will update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers or data practices materially change. The date at the top of the page shows when this version was last updated. Where a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will take reasonable steps to bring the change to users' attention where appropriate.
